Prime Classic

All coating systems start with the first coat. Usually a primer coat is applied first followed by two coats of a hard-wearing top coat.
Prime Classic is a Primer coat suitable for most of the local Australian Timbers. You will see that this coating brings out the colour of the timber yet does not darken the floor significantly. Applied at a rate of 8-10m2 per litre, a heavy coat is applied using a purpose designed Bona roller. Primers in the waterborne variety are applied liberally to ensure the timber is correctly sealed and primed prior to the application of waterborne topcoats. Leave this surface for 3.5 – 4 hours and you are ready to apply the top coat.

While this primer suits most timbers, some local timbers are tannin rich. Timbers such as Blackbutt, Stringybark & Tallowwood require extra care. For these timbers Bona has supplied a special primer. This is called Bona Prime Intense.
