Spotted Gum is a classic Australian hardwood. This colour varies from pale grey browns and soft creams to a rich chocolate brown. A very tough timber, its frequent wavy grain can produce an attractive and highly valued fiddleback effect.

The timber is highly sought after being much richer in appearance than most Australian hardwoods. It is a dense heavy timber.

VCS Supply this timber in both 14mm & 19mm thickness

There are various types of Spotted Gum available in Australia coming from different regions. Some of the Spotted Gum varieties are prone to a lot of movement whereas others are more stable. The most stable Spotted Gum timber comes from New South Wales. When this timber is cut into flooring it provides both the full variety of colour that is offered in the Spotted Gum species and the additional benefit of greater stability. Stability is a key issue in timber flooring as it contributes to the long-term success of the floor. At VCS we choose to supply the New South Wales Spotted Gum. It offers a significantly more stable timber than the other varieties.

With Spotted Gum there is always some colour variation.
At VCS we have Spotted Gum installed onto the floor in the showroom.
While the timber has regular features you should anticipate a wide colour variation.
