Marri is uniquely West Australian. It grows in the southern parts of WA among the Jarrah forests. It has such a range of warm brownish tones through to blonds and greenish tinges that is is unique month the timber species. As a floor it looks great and wears well.

This floor pictured was laid by a DIY enthusiast who attended a workshop and laid and finished the floor through his home.

When it came to finishes he was deciding between oils and the alternatives because he needed something hardwearing and easy to maintain. The product used was OSMO 3032 Polyx satin finish. We think it looks awesome and makes a very natural looking floor look superb.

The floor was sanded to 100 grit and the grain left open to allow the oil to penetrate the floor. The colour has developed really well and makes a modern contemporary statement while maintaining the charm of real wood.
